President Javier Milei will travel this Monday evening to Oslo, the capital of Norway, to accompany Venezuelan opposition leader and founder of the center-right party Vente Venezuela, María Corina Machado, to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Days ago, Milei received a personal invitation from Machado, who will receive the international award on Wednesday at 9:00 AM. The ceremony will be attended by three other Latin American heads of state. In addition to the Argentine president, the presidents of Paraguay, Santiago Peña; Panama, José Raúl Mulino; and Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, will be present, confirmed the Argentine News Agency (NA). The flight that will take Milei to the Nordic country will depart on Monday at 8:00 PM from Ezeiza International Airport and arrive on Tuesday at 1:30 PM. On Wednesday at 9:00 AM, the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony for Machado will take place at Oslo City Hall, after which the Argentine president will meet with the King of Norway, Harald V, at 11:30 AM and with the Prime Minister of the country, Jonas Gahr Støre, at 1:10 PM. After this tight schedule, Milei will board the flight back to Buenos Aires, a special flight departing at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, arriving in the country at 9:30 AM on Thursday. In October of this year, Machado was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her "tireless work in favor of the democratic rights of the Venezuelan people and for her struggle." The leader of Vente Venezuela stated that she "lives in clandestinity within her country" and faces constant threats from the Maduro government. The Nobel Prize ceremony, held since 1990, will be broadcast live on several virtual platforms.
